Festac Town (originally called Festival Town) is a federal housing estate located in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, Lagos State. It was built by the Nigerian Federal Government in 1977 to provide accommodation for participants of the Second World Black and African Festival of Arts and Culture (FESTAC ’77). After the festival, the estate became a permanent residential community and one of Lagos’s most recognizable planned towns.
