Yahaya Adoza Bello, born on 18 June 1975 in Okene, Kogi State, comes from a close knit family where he is the youngest of six children. His upbringing was deeply shaped by his late mother, Hajiya Hawawu Oziohu Bello, a devout and disciplined woman who instilled in him values of hard work, faith, and compassion qualities that later influenced his leadership style. Polictical Career and Appointment

Yahaya Adoza Bello entered politics in 2015 when he emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for Kogi State after the original nominee, Abubakar Audu, passed away. He was sworn in as Governor on 27 January 2016, becoming the youngest governor in Nigeria at the time. During his administration, he served two terms, concluding in January 2024.

In 2022, shortly after failing to secure the APC presidential nomination, Bello was appointed National Youth Coordinator of the Tinubu Shettima Presidential Campaign Council a significant role in mobilizing youth support for the APC’s successful 2023 presidential bid.

While serving as Governor, Bello also made several strategic appointments within Kogi State’s government. For example, in July 2023, he nominated Yahaya Ismail as the Commissioner for Special Duties, recognizing his longstanding service to the state.
